Home / About Where You’re Between
Hi, my name is James, the founder, writer, editor and photographer of Where You’re Between which I launched in 2017.
Ever since I was a kid I have always loved to travel. Since my first grown up holiday (a cultured weekend in Lille in 2002) I’ve been lucky enough to see a fair bit of the world – in fact it’s 45 countries at the last count.
While living and working in London for close to 20 years, I took maximum advantage of annual leave and bank holiday weekends to travel as often as possible as much as funds would allow.
Then, a few years ago, I decided to combine my love of travel with my passion for writing and photography and Where You’re Between was born.
There have been many highlights during my travels. I’ve survived the hike to Bhutan’s Tiger Nest Monastery, taken a road trip around Iceland’s Westfjords, I’ve stopped to see koala bears on the Great Ocean Road, fallen head over heels in love with Venice, been to the most northern point of New Zealand and even gone bowling in Pyongyang.
Taking in the views on trips to Salzburg and Hong Kong
During the course of my travels I’ve also made several return journeys to a number of countries that I love, such as Iceland, Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Italy and Malaysia.
In 2017 I moved to Asia, firstly to Singapore before relocating to Tokyo a few years later.
It was whilst living in Singapore that I launched Where You’re Between, marrying up my love of travel, writing and photography to create detailed travel guides for the destinations that I’ve visited.
Much happier behind the camera than in front of it, my aim is to inform readers of the qualities and each destination I visit, and reveal the kind of things that makes us want to travel in the first place.
If you’d like to get in touch I’d love to hear from you. Please contact us via the details here on the contact page. Otherwise take a look around and hopefully you’ll find some inspiration from some of our travels. There’s a full list of where we’ve been on our destinations page.
You can also follow us for occasional updates on Facebook and Instagram too.
